Tracey Fahy is a fine art, reportage photographer and photographic facilitator based in London. Her work involves producing images with various pinhole and other low-tech toy cameras, using both 35mm and 120mm film.

Tracey's pinhole photographs have quite a nostalgic and vintage feel. These pictures are artificially aged and represent a hazy sense of memory. They look back to the earliest not quite distinct efforts of Henry Fox-Talbot and Nicéphore Niépce and make traditional documentary subjects look even more traditional.

These photographs are reminiscent of paintings rather than photographs; they provide a form of release from the strangehold of pictorial tradition. In these images we can see afresh visual realities to which reliable equipments has rendered us blasé. The vignetting and blurred focus creates images that evoke a timeless, universal quality, which provides the viewer with room for a personal narrative.
