Artist in Residence
120 Guided Learning Hours
Location of course: online

The 7823 Artist in Residence qualification was designed by Deborah Bird of ArtyBird and accredited for International use by City & Guilds in 2005.
The award consists of seven flexible projects designed to document and build 'artist in residence' activity, including 5 proposals and two 'live' projects.
Projects can include the following type of activity - demonstration, workshop, field trip, artist talk, a body of location-based work (permanent or temporary).
In order to successfully participate it would be expected that students have some experience within the field of 'arts'. The online award provides guidance on how to professionally plan and document artist in residence activity. It does not measure artistic ability.
ArtyBird will provide one-to-one advice, support, feedback and mentoring through the whole process of planning, performing and documentation of projects.
Once you have achieved your award, you can market yourself on our ArtyBird Artist in Residence database facility. This will provide schools and educational establishments with access to a database of registered Artist in Residence professionals.
